Facebook & Twitter Presence
Of course, the internet is just a fluke and will go away shortly. Consequently, nobody should use it, learn to use it or even talk about it. By all definition, we’ll be going back to more conservative forms of communication soon, so keep that old phone handy, better yet, lets dig out the old crank-phone! Fact is – History is History – sad, sad, sad!
So, in today’s business everything depends on technology and much business comes to you through the electronic world. This requires at least the basics to be covered in terms of social media, website and email conduct. The airplane we fly may be a 1930’s Stearman or a 2012 Cirrus SR22. Unless people have a way to share with the world what they experienced when they came to your outfit, you will remain a secret.
Setting up a Facebook presence takes surprisingly little time. A button on your website could lead to your Facebook page. Brochures and business cards can have a link printed on them which invites your clients to like you on Facebook. What does this do? It gives people a shot to find and like your page, and all their friends get to see it. This in turn brings more Facebook visitors – which in turn means that more people learn about your company, eventually. When this happens on Facebook – its on a $0.00 advertising budget. Its basically “Word of Mouth – on Steroids” if you tend to it, once or twice a week.
Same with Twitter, except Twitter will require more activity on the business’ side to keep it active and going. How about reaching 300+ people with one little blurb of 140 characters or less? “Special on Sightseeing Flights Today – Stop By The Seaplane Base!
The perfect mixture can be had, its not elusive or unattainable and with a little bit of time and effort invested it can help you run a better, more active business. Maybe your customers would actually like to help you spread the word? You will never know, unless you try.
