Secret Birthday Party!
The Seaplaneforum.com discussion board spent most of it’s first birthday in the maintenance pit. While this could be regarded as a genius mistake in resource management, it is really just the result of scheduling conflicts. So, the “other forum” will of course remain in the market, no matter what you’ve been told. Jason has not fled the country, has not taken off with all your money and neither has he bowed to “legal pressures” from certain Muppet’s. So far, nothing is scheduled to disappear, be lost, or unrecoverable.
Thanks for all the emails with reports and concerns of the site being down, which has shown anything from “Maintenance” to “GENERAL ERROR” during the last several hours. Our “Forum Gang” will hopefully get to celebrate it’s own 1st year of existence once we return to full business. We look forward to many new members during 2011 and hope to remain the REAL network for seaplane enthusiasts! ;o)
Thank you to Victoria Neuville for her very nicely written Anniversary Post on her blog! Check that one out here!

Seaplaneforum.com earns 2011 WOAW Certificate
Overshadowed by recent events, I am nevertheless proud to announce our commitment to encourage women in considering aviation as a hobby or career. The forum and subsequent websites will be showing this logo proudly. Thanks to Victoria Neuville, for making this a pleasant and straight forward experience for me. I am looking forward to seeing this event turning into a full success, getting as many Aviatrixes involved as possible.
Seaplaneforum.com decided to sponsor the event by award of $150.00 toward a first seaplane flight lesson for a U.S. based pilot, introducing 5 or more girls or women to flying during women of aviation worldwide week. The gift will be distributed through random drawing. Please help us share the news.

Can’t help but to feel proud to support a cause that receives just not enough attention in our daily aviation world. Flying Women! Victoria Neuville, an avid blogger and pilot has created a truly amazing network of flying women on facebook and is constantly advocating for women to get involved in this wonderful world of flying. There is an essay writing challenge, which is ending March 13th, and the winner will receive $100.00 towards her first flight lesson, sponsored by Karlene Petitt.
I am currently seeking avenues to support the cause with potentially a seaplane lesson, sponsored by the seaplaneforum.com site. But: Psssst. Don’t tell anyone! We’ve even thought about a seaplane scholarship towards a seaplane rating. It’s a lot of work to get something together, so if you can help, contact me! Meanwhile, while you’re on facebook, make sure you add WFIF to your page, and help promote the event on March 12th.
For now, fans and friends of Women Fly It Forward are cordially invited to the Aviatrix Section of the Seaplaneforum.com, which is maintained by Victoria who announced this on her blog today. Signing up to post is required, like on all aviation forums, but it’s free and simple. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and mention “Women Fly It Forward”, together with your desired user name and password. I will be available for help and regular admin stuff, from uploading avatars, pictures and whatever else comes to mind. Help spread the word!
